There are several pieces of information we need in order to design the best possible swimming pool layout for your backyard.  During the design consultation we will get to know you and what you are interested in doing but before we even get there we also need to answer other questions like where does your property end, and are there any stormwater or sewer utilities going through your backyard.

  1. In order to design a pool the most important piece of information we will need in most cases, besides your wants and needs for your pool, is a BOUNDARY SURVEY of your property. The survey will tell us if there are any easements that would preclude the pool from being located where we both may want it.  Some properties have storm drains for the subdivision running through the back yard and there are requirements to stay away from those a certain distance. Most properties have setbacks off the side and rear property lines that are enforced by the city or county you are located in.  Most of this information can be taken off the survey or it will tell us where to look. In the majority of municipalities we will need the survey in order to apply for a swimming pool construction permit.
  2. Next step to design a pool would be a plat or layout of the septic system if you do not use municipal sewer. Generally the septic plat’s are not very accurate but it will give us an idea of where the septic tank and field lines are located.  If the optimal swimming pool location is where the lines are there is an option of relocating the septic field lines elsewhere on your property.  We just have to go through the motions to see if it is possible.
  3. Lastly and finally is YOU. To design a pool properly we need you to let us know who you are, how will you use it, what do you like or dislike.  We want to make sure we are on the same page with you, both in terms of design AND budget.

Give us a call today. We will get right back to you quickly.
